Now that Spring is finally starting to show its pretty colors, it’s a great time to do a little spring cleaning on your SEO campaigns to ensure that you are getting the best possible results. This will ensure that the important summer campaigns are ready to drive your sales forward, without getting caught up in common mistakes.

If you are looking for a way to improve your Salt Lake City SEO, then see below for some great “cleaning” tips to follow before summertime.

Evaluate your content topics. Utah web design companies will always tell you that keeping a blog or video content fresh on your site is the number one way to drive up search engine optimization so you are getting more organic traffic. Now is a good time to look back on your content (or lack thereof) and re-evaluate what worked and what didn’t. If there’s a particular keyword or topic that is performing well, try to use a variation of that in your new batch of content. If something is underperforming, cut it out.

Switch up your targets. Some industries are going to have a very specific market, but if you are able to switch up your marketing campaign this year to focus on a different demographic, you may have better success in driving new sales and loyal customers. Try new keywords, new digital campaign images and try to focus on how your product or service is perfect for this new demographic.

Make sure you are staying up to date with technology. Smartphones are everywhere, with a prediction that in a few years more people than not will have them. If your site is optimized for mobile use, now is the time to make sure your mobile site loads quickly, is mobile friendly in every way and includes access to all of your content if possible. This is also a great time to look into the newest search engine guidelines and fix any mistakes that get your site flagged and have your numbers plummet, sending your site to the bottom of the list. Make sure your hashtags, photo captions and content are free of any of the “trouble” terms that Google or other sites use to determine if a site is good or not.

Regularly audit. Once you’ve identified the areas that need to be changed or corrected, be sure to audit your SEO campaign and content throughout the year. Make sure you are keeping up with search engine updates, fresh blog and video content, keep your site free from bugs and make sure your mobile site is up to par with competitors or better. If you regularly keep an eye on these things, you should see your site climbing the charts in no time, leading to more organic sales and a better following.
